But this Saturday and the one a fortnight later it will be again our collective home for the day as 'Haven'. Not wishing to give too much away - you should come and see for yourself this Saturday, I should say that folk came out of our gazebo with smiles on their faces - not just ours after a cheeky snack either. - [Bug houses](https://sarahnewtongardendesign.com/bug-houses/): Easter holidays - one afternoon we gathered ourselves at Miche's plot as variously sized and aged mums and kids from 4 families to have a go at making bug houses. Having made and bought various types of bug houses myself I wanted to make it as open ended and non-prescriptive as possible. We brought containers, sticks, string, dried seed heads, bamboo cane, bark pieces. Then there was a fair bit of chopping, bundling, tyeing and chasing about.  The results were fabulous. There was also a heard of ladybirds to be found in a patch to inspire the proceedings....  Well done bug house makers and bug hunters!

- [On the plot](https://sarahnewtongardendesign.com/on-the-plot/): I'm not sure how I could actually quantify what having allotments means to me or my family. Or even begin to measure the amount of fun, depth and wealth of experience we enjoy there. Sometimes we just go to 'feed our eyes' as my friend Curtis would put it. Other times we weed, water, harvest and exchange seeds, plants, 'hello's and allsorts. Or hang over the wooden bridge watching tadpoles and horse leeches squadging about, experiment building, or follow bees dancing from flower to flower, scribbling poems or sketches with chalk and munching on tasty smellnices.
