First Step Nursery were committing to making their garden proactively all about natural play. They had a fantastic undulating topography trees and wildlife which we shall work with to enhance the character of the space as well as optimize the potential for Childs play and homes for wildlife.
First Step water feature
We removed what was considered no longer appropriate to the function of the space; old sheds, redundant equipment and a raised bed too high for a toddler to access. A willow dome was installed at the back left corner of the site into a weeded and organic compost and bark mulched ground.
First Step long view
The boundary and remaining hut received non toxic timber treatment, and the rest of the open ground was weeded and mulched as we installed play features and natural planting.
Planters on wheels, compost pit, sand pit, raised fruit and veggie beds, willow dome, hammock corner, water feature, gates, compost bins, wormery, bird houses and feeders were all included in the plan. The result was fun and very welcome.
